About the School of Sciences
Established in the 2013/2014 academic year as the third school of the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
A centre of excellence for natural and applied sciences
The School of Sciences was established in the 2013/2014 Academic Year and is the third of the schools established by the University. It began operations with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Department of Computer Science in 2013. In 2014, the Department of Chemical Science was established and the Department of Basic and Applied Biology in 2017.
The main objective of the school is to equip students with the requisite skills and competencies to address energy and natural resource challenges. Through its teaching, research and extension, the School plays a notable role in building the emerging discipline of Science & Technology Studies (STS) in Ghana and the world at large.
